Echo House is an immersive studio for movement and sound.

Our 800 square foot sprung dance floor is equipped with a haptic sound system, comprised of over 24 transducers installed beneath the maple hardwood floor. This architectural sound installation transmits audio signals directly to the body through the materials of the space in addition to passing through the airwaves and eardrums of occupants.

The installation expands accessibility in sound art and design, allowing deaf communities to experience an immersive vibratory sonic environment large enough to accommodate over fifty people at once. Dancers are able to feel the music resonating through their bodies as they move across the floor.

The studio is available for use as a research and creation space, rehearsal space, and performance hall for site-specific sound and movement performances. Please use the contact form below to inquire about renting the studio.
